Smalto House continues the custom tailoring tradition. The Smalto workshop, located in the heart of Paris, brings together nearly 40 cutters. Their know-how requires more than 10 years of training to perfectly complete each of the 33 stages of costume construction. Each costume requires at least 70 hours of work and is done entirely by hand. Smalto Couture is also a policy of innovation and constant research. Each season, unique combinations of materials such as wool combined with sable or silver fox bristles are created and selected among the best weavers in Europe. A selection of more than 2,000 fabrics is available. Smalto also offers couture-inspired ready-to-wear lines in the form of formal cloakroom, ceremonies, and casual chic. These lines are complemented with elegant accessory ranges. The tailoring tradition is respected in the ready-to-wear collections presented each season, designed by Eric Bergère, artistic director of Maison Francesco Smalto since 2016.
