| Lladro Kzeng Jiang's The Guest Kzeng Jiang created this version of The Guest as the first Chinese artist to enter the creative realm of this legendary figure. The Shanghai-based designer's work depicts modern Asian society through vivid, bold graphics. Kzeng aims to reimagine his cultural heritage by reinterpreting traditional symbols such as Chinese facial painting and flower painting from the Song era. In this scenario, for example, he is depicted with three large eyes on his face that, according to Kzeng, "allow him to see the past, present, and future as if he were a messenger travelling through time." Kzeng chose blue tones on white porcelain to ensure aesthetic harmony and balance. He then blends these colours with gold lustre to convey the sense of prestige associated with ancient Chinese porcelain.
